Nice to see some of the less &#039;hip&#039;, as you put it, and somewhat older languages getting a bit of attention. I was looking at Prolog a while ago myself, but for a reason I don&#039;t quite recall ended up discounting it.

But the concept, if not the language, lives on these days in business rules engines such as JBoss&#039;s Drools. And while perhaps still not &#039;hip&#039;, they do at least get reasonable attention. It would be interesting to know what the capability overlap looks like.
